Beginning with the Winter 2015 semester, NMU will be using preferred first names across university systems, where possible. This includes class rosters, advisee lists, and all communications. If you would like to add, change, or delete a preferred name, you must do so in person at the Registrar's Office (2202 Hedgcock). Any preferred names in the system as of January 8th will be loaded into EduCAT and class rosters.
Legal name will continue to be printed on NMU ID cards until we are able to print the preferred first name on the front and the legal name on the back. Projected targeted date is Fall 2015.
Students may view your current preferred name by going into mynmu, selecting the Student Services tab, then Main Menu under Student Services. Then select Contact Summary in the Personal Information tab.
Employees can follow the same path through the Main Menu option within the Web for Employees section of the Employee Services tab.
